The Washington Redskins have claimed defensive back Duke Ihenacho off the waiver wire ahead of the 2014 season.
The safety was released on Saturday by the Denver Broncos as part of their roster cutdown to 53 players for the new campaign.
Jay Gruden's side were quick to sign Ihenacho to bolster their secondary after Brandon Meriweather was suspended for the first two games of the campaign by the NFL for an illegal hit during pre-season.
The 25-year-old recorded 73 tackles and three forced fumbles for the Broncos last season.
