The Washington Redskins have agreed a deal to sign free safety Ryan Clark on a one-year contract, eight years after initially releasing him.
Clark left the Redskins as a free agent following the 2005 season and went on to carve out a successful career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, winning a Super Bowl and being elected to one Pro Bowl.
However, the Steelers chose to re-sign Mike Mitchell ahead of Clark this off-season, paving the way for the Redskins to bring the 34-year-old back to the team.
Clark intercepted 12 passes and twice recorded more than 100 tackles in a season during his time in Pittsburgh.
