Kyle Shanahan: 'Robert Griffin III has progressed each week'

Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan believes that quarterback Robert Griffin III has improved in each game so far this season.

Kyle Shanahan has said that Robert Griffin III has improved in each game this season.

The Washington Redskins quarterback missed all of the pre-season while continuing his recovery from knee ligament surgery, but was able to start the first game of the regular season.

The team's offensive coordinator told reporters: "I think he progressed each week. I think he got better each game since the Philly game. In terms of last year, I think he was in a lot more situations in these first four games that he wasn't in last year, you know, times where we had to throw it a lot more and go to some more dropback game and he didn't get too many opportunities like that last year. So I thought he did fairly well in those situations and he's gotten better.

"I think you see it all the time. I don't think everything has been totally consistent, but I think you see it at practice. I think you guys have all seen it in the games. I think our whole offense hasn't been totally clicking altogether as 11 players and I think we're starting to get there each week and hopefully we get it more this week."

The Redskins, who sit third in the NFC East, face the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday.
