Naomi Folkard has admitted that she found it "very difficult" facing Great Britain teammate Nicky Hunt at the round-of-32 elimination stage earlier today.
The 31-year-old, a three-time Olympic champion, was favourite to overcome her close friend in order to keep her individual archery medal hopes on track at the European Games.
However, Hunt claimed a comfortable 6-0 victory in Baku, which Folkard found tough to explain in the immediate aftermath.
"My shooting wasn't very good, was it? My warm-up this morning was awful," she told reporters. "I don't really know why, but I've had experiences where I've had an awful warm-up and shot well. It just didn't happen today. It's very difficult against a teammate."
Hunt will now face Russian Federation's Natalia Erdynieva for a place in the quarter-finals of the event.
