Natalia Valeeva and Mauro Nespoli won their final 5-3 against a Georgia side who were chasing their first medal in Baku.
Lasha Pkhakadze and Khatuna Narimanidze had to settle for silver in the end, despite taking a 2-0 lead against the Italian duo.
In the bronze-medal match, Ukraine ran out 5-1 victors over Slovenia.
