The International Olympic Committee have confirmed that they will not conduct an investigation into Taoufik Makhloufi's 1,500m triumph.
Makhloufi was entered into both the 800m and 1,500m races, but ran less than half a lap of the 800m, seemingly in order to preserve energy for the 1,500m.
The Algerian was disqualified from the Olympics for not providing a "bona fide" effort, before being reinstated after being seen by a doctor.
The 24-year-old went on to win the 1,500m final by some distance, raising new questions over the incident. However, the IOC have said that they are satisfied with the result.
"Obviously the IAAF is happy with the procedure that happened," said IOC spokesman Mark Adams.
Leonel Manzano won silver for USA in the same race.
