Sally Pearson has confirmed that she will not compete at the World Athletics Championships in August.
The Australian 100m hurdler suffered a broken wrist as the result of a fall during the Rome Diamond League meeting earlier this month.
The 28-year-old has since undergone surgery, which will keep her sidelined for the next few weeks.
"Unfortunately out of worlds this year from my wrist injury. Going 2 have a good mental & physical break before I gear up for the #Rio2016," she wrote on Twitter.
Olympic gold medallist Pearson won the world title in 2011, before she claimed silver two years later.
