Team England sprinter James Ellington has said that his disappointing display at the 2012 London Olympics is motivating him to succeed at the Commonwealth Games.
Ellington eased into the semi-finals of the 200m at Hampden Park this morning, finishing second in his heat behind Jamaica's Jason Livermore.
That performance already represents an improvement on his display two years ago, which saw him eliminated in the heats in London.
"I still get little flashbacks [to London] when I step out at championships. I know the atmosphere's amazing and I ran like crap, so when I came out there and heard the cheers I was like 'don't let this happen again'. I think that's a good thing. I feel nervous every time," Ellington told Sports Mole.
The semi-finals and final of the men's 200m will take place tomorrow.
