British Athletics performance director Neil Black insists that Mo Farah is likely to compete at the Commonwealth Games despite recent injury troubles.

British Athletics performance director Neil Black has revealed that Mo Farah is optimistic about his chances of competing in this summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Farah's participation at the Games has come under threat recently after he was forced to pull out of the Glasgow Grand Prix with abdominal pains last weekend.

The 31-year-old will race in both the 5,000m and 10,000m should he prove his fitness in time, and Black insists that the most likely scenario is for the double Olympic gold medalist to compete.

"Mo has had some challenges with his health which have all been dealt with and he is now phasing back into full training," Black is quoted as saying by PA.

"He is really positive about things and he is thinking optimistically about the summer.

"Obviously it would be impossible for him at this stage to be 100% sure he will be able to do everything, [but] that's the plan and there is no reason at this stage to think otherwise."

Farah has also been included in Great Britain's team for the European Championships, which take place in August.
