Jodie Williams has admitted that being treated to an "incredible atmosphere" inside Hampden Park on Tuesday night was a great experience.
The English sprinter started her 200m campaign at the Commonwealth Games with victory in her heat, and she was keen to pay tribute to the supporters in Glasgow.
"The crowd were so good, even walking up, little kids shouting my name," Williams told reporters. "Someone screamed my name at the beginning of the start and I was like 'wow!' It's an incredible atmosphere out there.
"This stadium is amazing as well. You can hear it from the warm-up area. The crowd go crazy for everyone."
The semi-finals and final will take place on Thursday.
