England's Steve Lewis has beaten teammate Luke Cutts in dramatic fashion to secure pole vault gold at the Commonwealth Games.
The pair broke free of their rivals in the latter stages of the final thanks to respective efforts of 5.55m, before both failed to set a new benchmark with failures arriving quickly at 5.60m.
A jump-off was called to decide the winner, but neither Lewis nor Cutts could improve on their most recent effort as the height was eventually brought back to 5.55m
Despite clearing the height with apparent ease earlier in the final, Cutts was unable to repeat the trick, and it was left to Lewis to claim gold with one final successful vault.
Canada's Shawnacy Barber was the closest challenger to the English duo as he secured bronze in his first ever Commonwealth Games.
