Team England have unveiled a performance centre named the Lions' Den for athletes competing at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The English athletes will have access to doctors and physios, all of whom will be situated in the Lions' Den, which is settled in the team's headquarters of the Athletes' Village.
The 12,000 square foot facility, which was created by £93,000 worth of funding from Sport England, contains an ice bath area, a stretch area, a spin bike zone and performance analysis suites.
Team England Chef de Mission Jan Paterson said: "Over the last four year cycle we have made a commitment to the athletes and support staff that we as an organisation would raise the bar by stepping up our support.
"We have aimed to enhance the support services that athletes can access at Games time as well as the environment for the professional development of staff. The Lions' Den is a physical manifestation of that promise."
The facility, which allows access to support staff as well as athletes, also holds a bottle sterilisation room, a sport science prep area and a number of meeting rooms.
