Kirani James has added another gold medal to his collection with an impressive victory in the 400m final at the Commonwealth Games.
The Grenadian quickly closed in on his two rivals ahead of him from lane six, but was still being matched by Wayde van Niekerk of South Africa heading into the home straight.
However, James powered to the finishing line in a Games record time of 44.24s to add Commonwealth gold to his Olympic and World Championship triumphs as Van Niekerk's challenge faded.
England's Martyn Rooney saw his hopes of a medal fade after a disappointing start to the race, and he was unable to pull in Trinidad and Tobago's Lalonde Gordon, who claimed the bronze medal.
