Jamaica won the women's 4x100m relay at the World Athletics Championships in a record time of 41.29 seconds.
The build-up to the race was dominated by talk of a tense head-to-head battle between the Jamaicans and the USA, but a catastrophic second changeover by the Americans ended their gold medal hopes.
Great Britain were in the silver medal position with just 80m remaining, but Hayley Jones could not hold off a late surge from France and the USA.
France took the silver medal with a time of 42.73, while USA recovered well to finish third with a time of 42.75.
