Sprinter Dwain Chambers is determined to qualify for the Olympic Games and do his best for Great Britain.
The 34-year-old was ruled out for two years in 2004 after testing positive for a banned steroid and was prevented from competing at the Beijing Games in 2008.
However, Chambers is now eligible for selection for this summer's event after the British Olympic Association's lifetime ban for drugs cheats was ruled non-compliant by the Court of Arbitration for Sport last month.
"All I can do is say I am sorry. I have made a mistake, a massive mistake, and all I want is another chance to correct it, a chance to do the best for my country," said Chambers.
"To run in my home Olympics? I would say it was a dream come true but it's not. Because I didn't even bother dreaming. I thought I would be sitting at home watching.
"Now the reality is if I qualify I will be there. That is something I will cherish. It would be an honour and I want to make sure I do it with pride and enjoy it. But I know it won't please everybody."
The 6ft athlete's primary event is the 100m sprint.
