Charles van Commenee has confirmed that he has stepped down as the head coach of UK Athletics.
The 54-year-old has vacated his post after the team failed to meet his medal target at London 2012.
Van Commenee had insisted that he would quit unless Team GB secured eight medals in the athletics, but the team fell two short.
He leaves his role with quotes of "credibility is a big thing for somebody leading a programme", as the main reason for his departure.
