Caster Semenya has got her Olympic preparations off to a winning start in South Africa.
Despite a heavy head wind, the 21-year-old comfortably won the women's 400m in 53.62 seconds at the Yellow Pages Interprovincial in Bellville on Saturday.
Semenya will be looking to add to the 800m gold medal she won at the 2009 World Championships at the London Olympics this summer.
The South African also won a silver medal on her return to competition at the World Championships in Daegu last year following her gender test controversy.
