The 29-year-old eased past the finish line in front of a fervent crowd at Crystal Palace to take first place.
Elsewhere, Team GB athletics captain Dai Greene came second in the 400m hurdles behind Puerto Rico's Javier Culson.
Tyson Gay won the 100m sprint with a time of 10.03 seconds ahead of fellow American Ryan Bailey and Jamaica's Nesta Carter.
