Paula Radcliffe has admitted that an Achilles tendon injury has left her feeling unprepared for this weekend's London Marathon.
The British distance runner is competing in her final event over 26.2 miles, but although she has been hindered by injuries in recent months, the world record holder is hopeful that her body can hold up in order for her to finish the race.
The 41-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "At least I feel like I'm going in healthy.
"I'm going in unfit and unprepared for a marathon, but I'm hoping my body can remember once it gets out there how it's supposed to do it."
Radcliffe has won the London Marathon on three occasions, but her last victory came a decade ago in 2005.
