Team GB's Michael Rimmer failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the men's 800m at the London Olympics this morning.
Following a slow opening lap, 26-year-old Rimmer hit the front of the field as the bell was sounded.
He began to open up a gap between himself and the remainder of the field down the back straight. However, he seemed to lack in endurance and he was caught down the home straight, eventually finishing fifth.
The race was won by Hamada Mohamed in a time of 1:48.05, while Sajad Moradi and Kevin Lopez took the two remaining automatic qualifying spots.
