Adam Gemili's performance during the summer has resulted in him being awarded top-level funding in time for next season.
The 19-year-old reached the semi-finals of the men's 100m at the recent Olympic Games in London where he competed against the likes of Yohan Blake and Tyson Gay.
With that in mind, it has been reported that UK Athletics will now expect the sprinter to reach the final of next year's World Championships in Moscow.
Gemili's fellow Kent-based athlete Jack Green has also received an increase in funding.
