Team GB's Andrew Pozzi has revealed that he will not hurry his comeback from injury.
Having been hampered by a hamstring complaint at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, the 22-year-old hurdler has since had to have two separate operations to correct problems in his foot.
He has now returned to training, but the Brit has conceded that his recent fitness issues have forced him to go back to basics.
"I had two foot operations so I'm effectively rehabbing both at the same time. I'm just doing a lot of balance work and getting my feet used to working again," he told the Bath Chronicle.
"The muscles in my feet and my calves haven't worked for the last few months so we started off with some walking drills, taking things slowly and not putting too much pressure on my feet at this stage."
Despite his lack of action over the last two years, it was recently announced that Pozzi is to receive full National Lottery funding for the 2015 season.
