Great Britain's Andrew Osagie left it late to claim a place in the semi-final of the men's 800m this morning.
The 23-year-old appeared to have given himself too much to do as he approached the final bend in fifth position.
However, he powered through in the closing stages to claim the third qualifying spot with just three metres of the race remaining.
World recorder David Lekuta Rudisha won the race in 1:45.90, while Musaeb Abdulrahman Balla finished second.
