Great Britain's Charlie Grice was unable to threaten the medal positions in the men's 1500m final after finishing in 12th place at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
The 22-year-old gave a standout account of himself having finished fifth in his semi-final contest, but was unable to mount a challenge in the last stage as Matt Centrowitz stormed home to take gold.
Centrowitz managed to run a perfectly-timed race as he beat off competition from Algerian runner Taoufik Makhloufi in order to cement first place.
New Zealand's Nick Willis came third, while world champion Asbel Kiprop finished sixth.
