Great Britain's Georgie Hermitage says that she is dreaming of winning three Paralympic gold medals in Rio having broken the world record on route to the T37 100m final.

Great Britain's Georgie Hermitage has said that she is delighted to have won gold in the women's 100m T37 final at the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.

The 27-year-old sprinter broke her own world record both in the heats and the final itself to storm to gold at the Olympic Stadium ahead of France's Mandy Francois-Elle.

Hermitage is also in 400m and 4x100m action next week, and she admitted that she is dreaming of a clean sweep of gold medals in Rio.

"I couldn't have asked for more today. There was a lot of pressure going in - I was sort of questioning myself a lot in the call room. It was all about trying to keep a cool head and yeah, I couldn't have asked for more," she told Sports Mole.

"I'm a built-in worrier, I'm useless! Everyone always says I'm an over-thinker, so just to come out and do it when it matters, that's the hardest thing. I'm glad I did it. The 400m is more my specialised event. I'm looking forward to that. I'm aware that anyone can come from anywhere and do anything, so I just need to focus on me and try and ignore everyone else. Of course [a clean sweep] is the dream, hopefully fingers crossed it will happen.

"I'm fully aware the old clock is ticking at 27. This may be my only chance. You just don't know. The sport's going to move on. I can only be the best that I can be now. Yeah, every race I treat it like my last. You definitely feel the pressure coming in. You think your able-bodied counterparts have done it, now it's our turn. We've got to hold up our end of the bargain, and I think we're doing so. I can see a lot more medals coming in."

Hermitage will next take part in the 400m heats on Monday, with the final the following day.
