Mo Farah has revealed that he supports plans for the marathon to be held at night at the 2019 World Championships in Qatar.
The race, held over 26.2 miles, is traditionally held during the morning, but Farah, who has won a number of world and Olympic titles at 5,000m and 10,000m, believes that staging the race during the evening would benefit the sport.
The 32-year-old told reporters: "A night marathon which has been proven is better for us in terms of climate - why not?
"Sometimes, I look at athletics and think about how we can make it exciting? It can be exciting if we work together."
Farah was speaking ahead of the first Diamond League meeting of the season in Doha.
