Ireland's Sam Magee has said that he is "lost for words" after winning their quarter-final in the men's doubles badminton event alongside brother Joshua Magee at the European Games.
The duo beat Matijs Dierickx and Freek Golinski of Belgium in three sets in the Baku Sports Hall this afternoon, sending them through to the last four.
The 25-year-old told reporters: "I'm a bit lost for words. We played scrappy badminton in the beginning and I feel we stole the first set.
"In the third set, we had a good lead. I think the occasion got to them. They were the higher ranked players, probably thinking about the medal already, while I was not thinking about a medal at all.
"Last year we started playing together, and we've really improved. This time last year you'd have fancied your chances against us."
The Magees will face Russia's Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov in the semi-finals tomorrow.
