Boston Celtics star Gerald Wallace has suffered a torn meniscus and has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Celtics coach Brad Stevens confirmed the news to reporters on Friday, and revealed that Wallace had been playing through pain for some time.
The 31-year-old is also expected to undergo ankle surgery to repair bone spurs that have developed over the course of the season.
Boston have announced no timetable on his return, but with just six weeks remaining in the regular season they are not expecting him back until training camp in the summer.
