The Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly nearing an agreement with Tristan Thompson over a new deal.
The power forward is a restricted free agent this summer, and is understood to be closing in on a new five-year contract, according to ESPN.
Thompson is allowed to accept an offer sheet from another team, but the Cavs would then be given time to match that offer and re-sign him.
Cleveland lost in the NBA Finals last season, but the 24-year-old averaged 10 points and 13 rebounds per game in the series against the Golden State Warriors.
