Coach Tim Hardaway has revealed that he is ecstatic to have joined the Detroit Pistons as an assistant on Stan van Gundy's staff.
Hardaway had previously been a coach at the Miami Heat, where he helped to lead the team to four consecutive Atlantic Division titles.
"I'm ecstatic," he told the Bradenton Herald.
"It's something I wanted to do. It's all about teaching. I'm good at teaching and understanding players."
"Stan and I have great rapport. [Heat president] Pat Riley said it's a great thing for me and he's happy for me."
Hardaway previously represented the likes of the Heat and the Indiana Pacers during his playing days in the NBA.
