Golden State Warriors forward Stephen Curry has revealed his elation after being named the MVP of the NBA for the 2014-15 season.
The 27-year-old has been in outstanding form for the Warriors this season as he was integral in guiding his team to the playoffs with the best record in the regular campaign.
Curry beat James Harden, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis and Chris Paul to earn the award after receiving 100 first-place votes.
He said in a statement after receiving the award: "This hasn't sunk in at all. I'm on cloud nine for sure. We're in the middle of a playoff run, and that's the most important thing. But today's a celebration for sure.
"I hope I inspire people all around the world to just be themselves, be humble, and be grateful for all the blessings in your life. I'm truly honoured to be your MVP this year. Thank you very much."
The Warriors lead their Western Conference semi-final series 1-0 over the Memphis Grizzlies.
