Indiana Pacers forward Paul George has told of his insistence on overcoming a compound fracture in his leg, which could potentially rule the player out of the next NBA season.
George suffered the injury while on duty with the US basketball team, as a collision during scrimmage left a bone protruding through his leg.
"It's something that I think I can overcome," said George, according to Yahoo! Sports.
"It's a bump in the road, but I will be able to battle through this.
"It will be a story that I can tell, a testimony that I will have and something that will make me stronger going forward. I don't think it will affect me in a negative way."
The Pacers have already declared that they will not rush George back even if he does show signs of fitness at the tail end of next season.
