Paul George has claimed that his Indiana Pacers teammate Lance Stephenson must learn from his mistakes after his war of words with LeBron James.
Prior to game four of the Eastern Conference finals on Monday, which the Miami Heat won 102-90, Stephenson suggested that he was getting under James's skin.
The four-time MVP responded with an impressive display as his 32 points guided the Heat to a 3-1 series lead, and George believes that Stephenson needs to think twice before making similar comments.
"Well, you know, Lance is young," George told reporters after the defeat. "You know that's teaching point, it's a learning lesson for him. Sometimes you just got to watch what you say. You're on a big stage and everything you say is bulletin board material. It's really going to have a powerful meaning behind it.
"We've just got to be smarter with situations and voicing our opinions sometimes."
Miami will secure a spot in the NBA finals for the fourth successive year with a victory in Indiana on Wednesday night.
