Indiana Pacers forward Chris Copeland has reportedly been hospitalised after being stabbed outside a Manhattan nightclub.
The NBA star was involved in an incident which resulted in his wife and another woman also being attacked with a knife just before 4am on Wednesday.
During an argument outside the 1Oak Club, Copeland is said to have been stabbed in the abdomen and his wife cut on the arm and slashed across the breast and buttocks, although their injuries are described as 'minor'.
The NYPD has named 22-year-old Shezoy Bleary, who was taken into custody, as the assailant.
Atlanta Hawks pair Thabo Sefolosha and Pero Antic, in town ahead of their game with Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night, have been arrested on a separate charge of refusing to move when police were establishing the crime scene.
An Atlanta statement said: "We are aware of the situation involving Pero Antic and Thabo Sefolosha this morning. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have further comment at the appropriate time."
Copeland has been with Indiana since joining from the New York Knicks in 2013.
