Prospective Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer will reportedly not try to move the team to Seattle.
The former Microsoft chief executive has had a $2bn bid for the team approved by the NBA, although the league's board of governors are yet to finalise the purchase.
ESPN reports that the wording of the agreement states that the businessman will not try to move the team to Seattle, where there has been no NBA franchise since 2008.
Ballmer was part of a group of investors that tried to purchase the Sacramento Kings in 2013 with a view to relocating the team, but their bid fell through.
