Former NBA star and Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson has called for the NBA to suspend Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling indefinitely.
Sterling, 80, has allegedly been recorded telling girlfriend V Stiviano that he does not want her to bring black people to games at the Staples Center.
Former All-Star Johnson wants the NBA to ban Sterling, appoint an executive or family member to run the team, and levy the maximum fine possible as punishment, according to The AP.
Johnson, who is advising the National Basketball Players Association on the issue, tweeted over the weekend: "The reported comments made by Clippers owner Donald Sterling are reprehensible and unacceptable."
NBA commissioner Adam Silver has called a press conference this evening at 7pm UK time to reveal the findings of their investigation into the Sterling recording.
