San Antonio Spurs star LaMarcus Aldridge has revealed that his meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers was not as bad as it was made out to be.
The Lakers pitch was reportedly heavy on selling LA as a destination, rather than focusing on the basketball aspect.
Despite the franchise getting a second meeting with the former Portland Trail Blazers star, they were unable to convince him to join them.
"With the Lakers, it wasn't anything crazy," Aldridge said, according to Basketball Insiders.
"It was just the [first] meeting didn't go as well as I wanted it to, so I did another one. People blew it out of proportion about things happening in the meeting. That wasn't correct. It just didn't go as good as I wanted it to so I had one more."
Aldridge added that he did not agree a move to the New York Knicks as they envisaged him playing as a centre.
