Mitch Kupchak has revealed that he is expecting the Los Angeles Lakers to "get better quickly" following the worst season in the franchise's history.
The 16-time champions had just 21 wins during the 2014-15 campaign, leaving them last-but-one in the Western Conference standings.
The general manager told ESPN: "We can get better quickly. We can be in the hunt quickly. A lot depends on May 19 and how we end up with the [Draft] lottery, the Draft and the period leading up to the free agent period, which is July 1.
"We are in a good position despite having a terrible year. We have great fans and to a degree, they are patient, but I don't think anyone is used to waiting a long time for a turnaround."
The Lakers missed out on a place in the playoffs for the second year in a row, and just the seventh time in the team's history.
