Sports Mole rounds up all the action from Wednesday's games in the NBA.

The San Antonio Spurs survived a late push from the Cleveland Cavaliers to secure a narrow victory, improving to a 7-4 record this season.

The NBA champions had a slender lead heading into the final 18 seconds before LeBron James tried to drive to force a game-tying shot for the hosts, but the Spurs forced a turnover.

The Los Angeles Lakers picked up back-to-back wins for the first time this season, with a strong finish giving them a victory over the Houston Rockets.

Kobe Bryant led a 7-1 run to the start of the fourth quarter to put the visitors ahead, while Wesley Johnson also added some late points to give the team just their third win of the season.

Solomon Hill made a last-gasp basket to give the Indiana Pacers a win in a closely-fought game against the Charlotte Hornets.

After cancelling out an early lead by Charlotte, the hosts were level heading into the final seconds when Rodney Stuckey got the ball and launched it for the Pacers, leaving Hill to tip it in.

Dirk Nowitzki overcame an ankle injury to add a game-winning three pointer for the Dallas Mavericks in their game against the Washington Wizards.

Monta Ellis scored 24 of his 34 points in the second half to keep the Mavericks in the game, before Nowitzki, who had to have his ankle strapped moments earlier, made his shot in the final 80 seconds.

The Los Angeles Clippers cruised to a comfortable win over the Orlando Magic in their first of seven games on the East Coast over the coming 11 days.

Jamal Crawford led the scoring, while Blake Griffin and Chris Paul also added more than 20 points to give the Clippers a comfortable win.

The Philadelphia 76ers are still looking for their first win of the season after slipping to a defeat to the Boston Celtics.

The home side were ahead in the first quarter as they tried to end their losing run, but Tony Wroten and Jeff Green got the visitors back into the game, ending their three-game losing streak.

The Toronto Raptors dominated the fourth quarter to maintain their strong home form, beating the Memphis Grizzlies by four points.

Terrence Ross added 14 of his 16 points in the final 12 minutes as the Raptors outscored their opponents by 10 in the fourth quarter, leaving them with seven wins from their eight home games so far this season.

The Minnesota Timberwolves put back-to-back heavy defeats behind them with a comfortable victory over the New York Knicks.

The home side opened up a big lead in the second quarter, led by Kevin Martin with 37 points to end their five-game losing streak.

The Phoenix Suns survived a fierce fightback from the Detroit Pistons to secure a win at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Suns were eight points clear inside the final two minutes before Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Brandon Jennings put Detroit ahead with 35 seconds to go, but Eric Bledsoe made an easy shot to make sure of the win.

The Denver Nuggets held off a strong finish from the Oklahoma City Thunder to give the team their fourth win of the season.

Denver were 14 points up heading into the fourth quarter, led by Wilson Chandler, before Serge Ibaka brought the Thunder back into contention late on, but Chandler added a late three-pointer to put the win beyond doubt.

The Milwaukee Bucks needed three overtime periods to secure a narrow win over the Brooklyn Nets, who have now lost their last five games.

The visitors came from behind in the second half to force overtime, before Brandon Knight added a tying three-pointer in the second extra spell before scoring the game-winning free throws.
