Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade admits that his injury "could have been worse" after he sustained a bruised knee in the team's defeat to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Dwyane Wade has admitted that it "could have been worse" when he injured his knee during the Miami Heat's defeat to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA.

The guard's left knee hit the court midway through the second quarter after his right knee buckled, but tests by the team's medical staff confirmed that it was just a bruise.

The 33-year-old, who has battled a string of knee injuries in the past, told ESPN: "It could have been worse. Everybody thought it was a groin. The only thing I feel is where my left knee banged on the floor. That's the sorest right now.

"I hit the inside of my knee on the court. That's all I feel right now. I don't know what I'm going to wake up with, but right now I just feel it on the inside of my knee.

"When you go down like that, I couldn't bust into a split, I'm not that flexible. I knew I was in trouble on my way down. It's unfortunate. I was a little concerned."

Wade is not yet sure whether he will be ready to play against the Detroit Pistons tomorrow.
