The Cleveland Cavaliers made amends for their loss to the Toronto Raptors earlier in the season with an away win over the Eastern Conference leaders.

LeBron James ensured that the visitors made a bright start, opening up a 10-point lead by the end of the first quarter to set up Cleveland's sixth straight win.

The San Antonio Spurs held off a late rally from the Memphis Grizzlies to secure their 14th win of the season.

Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan helped the NBA champions open up a lead before Cory Joseph came off the bench to add some late points to thwart Memphis's attempt to fight back late on.

Kemba Walker made a last-gasp basket to give the Charlotte Hornets a narrow win over the New York Knicks, ending their run of 10 consecutive defeats.

The home side had looked comfortable for most of the game, leading by 20 points early in the second half, but Carmelo Anthony brought the Knicks back into contention before Walker's layup in the final second of the fourth quarter.

The Houston Rockets needed overtime to secure a narrow win over the Minnesota Timberwolves despite a dominant shooting performance from James Harden.

Harden finished the game with 38, and helped the team to a nine-point lead heading into the fourth, but Shabazz Muhammad got Minnesota back on level terms late on, before Nick Johnson sealed it for Houston in overtime.

The Philadelphia 76ers were unable to make it back-to-back wins, slipping to a defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Sixers secured their first win of the campaign earlier this week, and managed to restrict reigning MVP Kevin Durant to 10 points, but Russell Westbrook added 27 to make sure that the Thunder came away with the win.

The Dallas Mavericks lost for the first time in six games as they came up short against the Phoenix Suns.

Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe led the visitors to a big lead early on, allowing them to hold on when Monta Ellis led a late charge for the Mavericks.

A strong second-half performance helped the Boston Celtics secure a win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

The home side were just five points up at the break, but Tyler Zeller finished with a career-high 24 to help the Celtics pull away in the third quarter.

The Washington Wizards cruised to a comfortable win over the Denver Nuggets to move to a 13-5 record, keeping them at the top at the Southeast Division.

Six Wizards players reached double figures as they shared the workload to open up a 40-point winning margin, led by Kris Humphries with 20.

The Atlanta Hawks made it five wins in a row as they eased to a big win over the Brooklyn Nets, leaving them just a win behind the Wizards in their division.

The Nets were two points up at the end of the first quarter, but never threatened after falling behind early in the second as DeMarre Carroll and Paul Millsap combined for 35 points.

The Sacramento Kings needed overtime to clinch a one-point victory over the Indiana Pacers.

After the Pacers came back from eight points down in the fourth quarter, Carl Landry stepped up in overtime to add the game-winning points, ending the team's four-game losing streak.

The Milwaukee Bucks dominated the second half to wrap up a win over the Miami Heat at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

The sides were closely matched in the first half, but Kendall Marshall came off the bench for the Bucks to see the hosts to victory.

The Orlando Magic survived a strong finish from the Utah Jazz to secure a win, leaving the Jazz without a win in their last eight games.

Tobias Harris and Victor Oladipo combined for 42 points as the visitors took the lead early on, while the Jazz fell short trying to overturn the deficit in the final few minutes.
