Flip Saunders has insisted that he is the "right guy" to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves after being re-appointed as the team's head coach.
The 59-year-old coached the team between 1995 and 2005 before returning as the team's president of basketball operation last year.
During a press conference to announce his appointment, Saunders said: "We went through the process and you look at everything and it came down to there is always a coach at the right place at the right time. I believe I'm the right guy to coach this team in this situation. It's time to put my tool belt back on and go to work.
"I understand the commitment that it's taken, and because of the support and help I have, I'm very confident we'll be able to do it at a high level that it needs to be done at."
The team have been without a coach since Rick Adelman's retirement in April.
