The New Orleans Pelicans have been given a boost by the news that Tyreke Evans could be back on court within the next two weeks.
Evans claimed that the ankle injury, suffered in the pre-season win over the Houston Rockets, was "just a sprain" and that he expected to be ready for the start of the new NBA season.
An MRI scan has revealed that there was no serious damage done to the ankle, meaning that Evans will be sitting on the sidelines only for a fortnight.
The 24-year-old was traded to the Pelicans by the Sacramento Kings in the summer.
