The NBA are investigating the Twitter feud between New York Knicks star JR Smith and Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Jennings.
The two teams meet on Tuesday night in Detroit, but it is expected that the league will make their ruling prior to the game.
"Threaten? No. There's a way to threaten somebody, and that's not the way to publicly threaten somebody," Smith is quoted as saying by ESPN.
The social media spat relates to Jennings making initial comments about Smith's younger brother and his status at the Knicks, which resulted in a response from the reigning Sixth Man of the Year.
