Commissioner Adam Silver has claimed that talk of an NBA expansion in Europe is "premature" as the league continues to look at potential new ventures.
Silver has previously indicated that he is keen for a team to be formed in Europe in an attempt to boost the league's profile across the world, and NBA teams take part in a number of games outside of North America, with London hosting a regular-season game each year.
Currently in Spain ahead of Thursday's meeting between the Boston Celtics and Real Madrid, Silver believes that a decision over a possible expansion will not be made anytime soon.
The commissioner does not believe "it's going to happen in the very near future" but that it "could happen one day" as he once again suggested that he would be willing for teams to travel to Europe more often.
