Besiktas are in talks to bring Kobe Bryant to Istanbul during the NBA lockout.
The Turkish club are keen to sign the LA Lakers shooting guard, but have claimed that they would need a sponsor to help meet Bryant’s sizable salary demands.
The Turkish club have already signed New Jersey Nets point guard Deron Williams for the lockout.
Several NBA players have already signed for overseas teams, or expressed interest in moving to China or Europe.
Talks between the NBA and the players' union broke down at the end of June, followed by the owners' decision to impose the league's first lockout since the 1998-99 season.
