Derek Fisher has reportedly emerged as the new favourite to be named the New York Knicks' coach.
The Atlantic Division side, who fired Mike Woodson after missing out on a place in the playoffs, had been pursuing Steve Kerr, but he joined the Golden State Warriors earlier this week.
According to the New York Daily News, team president Phil Jackson believes that the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard could be a suitable replacement, despite having no coaching experience.
However, Fisher is still involved in the playoffs, with the Thunder preparing to face the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference finals.
