The Oklahoma City Thunder have reportedly moved a step closer to appointing Monty Williams as their new assistant coach.
Williams was recently sacked by the New Orleans Pelicans despite leading them to the playoffs in the Western Conference, and he has since been replaced by Alvin Gentry.
According to ESPN, his availability has attracted interest from the Thunder as they continue to bring in new staff to support the recently appointed Billy Donovan.
Donovan has worked with Williams during their time with the US basketball side.
The Toronto Raptors were also believed to be keen on bringing in Williams.
