The Philadelphia 76ers have announced that Michael Carter-Williams has undergone shoulder surgery to repair a tear in his right labrum.
The NBA's rookie of the year had the procedure yesterday in order to give him the maximum recovery time ahead of the 2014-15 season.
The rookie averaged 16.7 points per game during his first campaign in the league, as well as 6.3 rebounds and 6.2 assists.
The Sixers finished the year 14th in the Eastern Conference, having set a new record for most consecutive defeats during the season.
