The Indiana Pacers needed a strong second-half performance in order to avoid their second defeat of the season.

The Pacers trailed the Boston Celtics at half time, but Paul George starred with 27 points for the visitors as they outscored their hosts by 23 points after the break to seal a comfortable win.

The San Antonio Spurs thrashed the Memphis Grizzlies as they continued their strong start to the season.

The Atlanta Hawks held off a strong finish from the Detroit Pistons to clinch their eighth win of the season.

The visitors had a five-point lead heading into the fourth quarter thanks to a strong spell from Jeff Teague at the start of the second half, but a 6-0 run at the start of the final period gave the Pistons the lead.

However, a series of late efforts from DeMarre Carroll and Al Horford ensured that the visitors came away with the win.

The Brooklyn Nets' poor run away from home continued as they were crushed by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Kevin Martin and Kevin Love led the scoring for the home side as they eased to a 30-point victory, leaving the Nets with just one win away from home.

The Dallas Mavericks won their fourth consecutive game, despite a late comeback by the Utah Jazz.

The home side had opened up a comfortable 28-point lead, but Marvin Williams led the Jazz fightback, bringing them within five points of the Mavericks in the fourth quarter, but Dallas were able to hold on.

The Los Angeles Lakers overcame their injury problems to beat the Golden State Warriors 102-95.

Pau Gasol scored 24 points while Nick Young put in a strong performance in the second half to secure a sixth win of the season for the Lakers.

The Portland Trail Blazers extended their winning run to nine games, edging out the Chicago Bulls.

The home side dominated the third quarter to lead heading into the last 12 minutes, with Wesley Matthews adding 28 points, and it was enough for the Blazers to see out the win.

The Milwaukee Bucks lost their seventh game in a row as they were beaten in overtime by the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Sixers overturned a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter to force the additional period, where Spencer Hawes led the hosts to their first win in five games.

A dominant finish gave the Toronto Raptors a 96-88 win over the Washington Wizards.

John Wall had a strong shooting night for the Wizards, scoring 37 points from 15 of 21 attempts, but DeMar DeRozan and Rudy Gay split the workload for the home side to keep them in contention heading into the fourth quarter, before surging ahead late in the game.

The Phoenix Suns escaped with a win over the Charlotte Bobcats, despite throwing away a 17-point lead late on.

Channing Frye and PJ Tucker helped the visitors open up the advantage heading into the final four minutes of the game, before the Suns had to survive a late surge from Charlotte.

The New Orleans Pelicans needed a late push to seal a win against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The home side trailed by 12 points heading into the last four minutes of the contest, but outscored their opponents 23-7 in the final moments, with Eric Gordon putting the Pelicans ahead with 31 seconds to spare.
